CDI conducts Short-Term Training for artisans, industry
professionals as well as individuals who aspire to or currently
work in the area of handicrafts. Most often, these programmes
are conceived in response to a given need, including skill
up-gradation, product diversification, technology or business development. The objective of each programme is to provide technical support to the industry, create a dynamic platform for interaction and learning, and generate a rich knowledge resource
and experience base for the Institute.
All training sessions are applied in nature and offer a hands-on approach. Always anchored around real-life situations, learning is facilitated through interaction, exposure, experience and documentation.
Programmes conducted by the Institute include:
•
Development of innovative joinery in wooden furniture
•
Entrepreneurship development in handicrafts
•
Pattern cutting & stitching of ladies garments
•
Computer-aided design & representation techniques
